Safety

•  complies with all applicable legislation, regulations and statutory requirements relating to
   safety and railway safety

•  embeds safety and railway safety practices into business operations, and its procedures
   meet all accreditation requirements of Australian Standard 4292 ‘Railway Safety
    Management’ and AS/NZS 4801 ‘Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems’

•  communicates its safety policy and promotes safety awareness to employees, contractors,
   customers, other network operators and the community

•  encourages employees, contractors and other network operators to identify hazards,
   including human factors and reduce risks

•  provides the resources and training to implement, monitor and audit safety controls

•  manages the accurate reporting of incidents and the rapid response to handling of
   emergencies

•  investigates incidents and initiates effective responses to prevent reoccurrence.
