Community

The Adelaide–Darwin railway is a vital supply line for Northern Territory communities and is closely linked to the economic development of the Top End.

Aboriginal people from communities in northern South Australia and the Northern Territory made up 40% of the workforce during the construction of the line, and are benefiting from jobs created from mining industry expansion brought about by the railway.

FreightLink awards tertiary education assistance scholarships to Aboriginal students from the Central Land Council and Northern Land Council areas, valued at $5000 each.

For more information about the scholarships, telephone FreightLink.
